Erected on the ramparts of the village of Kientzheim in the 16th century, Château Saint Etienne d'Alsace was the residence of a glorious general of Charles V, Lazare de Schwendi, who introduced Tokay, the spoils of his campaigns in Hungary, to Alsace...
Owned by the Confrérie since 1973, it houses an oenotheque with the oldest bottles dating back to 1834, and is now used for festive, cultural and professional events around Alsace wines.
Thanks to the diversity and modularity of its ambiences and facilities, the château is ideally suited to the originality of seminars and the brilliance of prestigious institutional or corporate events.
You can use all or part of the following areas:
- The Grand Caveau, the venue for the Confrérie's solemn tastings; it can accommodate 200 people, and is equipped with audio and video facilities; on the village side, it opens onto the flower-filled Cour d'Honneur, sheltered by the surrounding wall, and on the vineyard side onto the one-hectare park planted with trees.
- The reception rooms (Dreyer and Schwendi) each seat 130 to 150 guests, with dance floor, chairs and round or rectangular tables.
- The Salle Capitulaire, with its wood-panelled ceiling and table seating for 50, is the venue for our Grand Council meetings.
Around these spaces, we offer a range of services, including enclosed parking for around 110 vehicles, and access to our professional kitchen whose equipment satisfies the needs of caterers and Michelin-starred chefs regularly invited by the Confrérie for its gastronomic chapters, hire of crockery and tableware, audio and video equipment, security for the premises and surrounding area, floral and lighting decorations, photographer, entertainment (orchestra, hunting horns, wine competitions...).
