Founded on August 9, 1871 and moved to its current premises in 1895, the KULBS (Kaiserlische Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek zu Strassburg) became the Bnu (Bibliothèque nationale et universitaire) in 1926 by decree, giving it its unique status as a national public administrative establishment (EPNA), under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.
In this historic setting, in the heart of the listed Neustadt district, the interior renovation, modern and bright, contrasts with the exterior facades adorned with the tutelary figures of European writers, poets, philosophers and scientists. This architectural contrast reveals the true nature of the Bnu: a modern, innovative library, open to the city and to Europe, striving for excellence in the service of all.
Today, the Bnu is a leading multidisciplinary research library in the human and social sciences, with unique collections. It is also an essential cultural venue.
Depending on availability, the Bnu offers the possibility of renting one or more spaces for the organization of meetings or events for associations and professionals.
We offer you the possibility of renting some of our spaces: auditorium, training room, etc. for a half-day, day, etc., subject to availability.
Complementary services such as stage management and technical staff are also available.
